Primary Group Exercise Certification
AFAA's Primary Group Exercise Certification is a review of AFAA's Basic
Exercise Standards and Guidelines, exercise science and exam criteria,
followed by written and practical exams.
Primary Group Exercise Certification Prerequisites:
Early registration, self-study before program, group exercise teaching
experience. Current CPR required before certificate is issued. Primary
Group Exercise Certification is worth 5 CEUs for AFAA certified professionals.
Primary Group Exercise Certification Includes: study guide, one-day
review, written and practical exams, one-year AFAA membership, including
a subscription to American Fitness magazine.
Primary Group Exercise Certification Study Materials:
Fitness: Theory & Practice textbook (required), Practice Test for
Primary Group Exercise Certification.
WHAT IS AFAA'S PRIMARY GROUP EXERCISE CERTIFICATION?
AFAA's Primary Group Exercise Certification review of AFAA's Basic
Exercise Standards and Guidelines, anatomy, exercise science, exercise
evaluation and exam criteria. The day concludes with the practical
and written exams. The program format includes:
Practical application of group exercise
Study guide overview
Question and answer sessions
WHO IS AFAA'S PRIMARY GROUP EXERCISE CERTIFICATION FOR?
AFAA's Primary Group Exercise Certification is for group exercise
instructors whose training and educational background has prepared
them to take the AFAA Primary Group Exercise Certification exam.
Prerequisites: Early registration, self-study before
program and group exercise teaching experience. Current CPR certification
required before certificate is issued. (The Practical Skills &
Choreography workshop is a useful precursor.)
WHAT DOES AFAA'S PRIMARY GROUP EXERCISE CERTIFICATION COST?
The Primary Group Exercise Certification workshop fee is $299* (less
a 10% discount for current AFAA members).
This fee includes:
Primary Group Exercise Certification Study Guide
Full one-day Certification Review
Primary Group Exercise Certification examinations (written and practical)
One year AFAA membership ($68 value) or membership extension to
current members
Subscription to American Fitness magazine
(does not include postage to addresses outside of the U.S.)
AFAA Certified Instructor certificate and I.D. card
(upon successful completion of both examinations)
For AFAA certified professionals who wish to register for CEU credit
only, not for Primary Group Exercise Certification, the workshop fee
is $85. Receive 5 CEUs.
*The Primary Group Exercise Certification fee does not include the required Fitness: Theory & Practice ($44). |
