This one-day workshop outlines the properties of water and
exercise, and the latest research supporting the benefits of water resistance
on muscle strengthening and cardiovascular endurance. Learn how to create and
teach a safe, effective aquatic class.
WHAT IS IT?
This one-day program is based on AFAA's Standards and Guidelines for Aqua
Fitness, and focuses on the application of land exercise principles to the
unique environment of water. Topics include:
- Effects of resistance and buoyancy
- Teaching from the deck
- In-water teaching
- Exercise design
- Intensity progression

For instructors who are currently teaching, or are interested in teaching
aquatic group exercise.
